Role Overview

ACtronics is seeking a skilled and motivated senior remanufacture technician to join our friendly and experienced remanufacturing team in Colchester. We specialise in the remanufacture of automotive electronic components, restoring faulty units to a standard equivalent to new. As a senior remanufacture technician, you ensure that technical remanufactures are carried out smoothly, efficiently and of high quality. You support colleagues with advice, instructions and guidance, and play an active role in maintaining and applying the quality system. This role is ideal for someone with a strong knowledge in electronics and preferably experience  within the automotive industry. Someone who enjoys hands-on technical work within a high quality engineering environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advising, supervising and instructing colleagues in technical remanufacture processes and ensure documentation is updated.
  • Identifying improvement opportunities in work processes and initiating optimizations.
  • Contribute to a safe, tidy and well-organized workplace.
  • Test and diagnose customer-returned automotive electronic components using inhouse developed test software.
  • Accurately identify electronic faults at unit and PCB level.
  • Use specialised equipment and machinery to dismantle electronic assemblies.
  • Remanufacture and restore electronic components to full functional and quality standards and on PCB level.
  • Perform end-of-line testing to ensure all units meet ACtronics’ quality and performance requirements.
  • Work closely with other engineers and further improve team knowledge.

Skills Required or preferred:

  • Strong practical knowledge of electronics.
  • Understanding of schematics and wiring diagrams.
  • Some experience with PCB-level soldering and electronic component handling.
  • Understanding of automotive electronic systems desirable.
  • Confidence using electronic test equipment and diagnostic tools.
  • Good communication skills, verbally and written, and the ability to work effectively within a team.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • You like to independently initiate and execute improvement and optimizationprojects.
  • You have a practical, down-to-earth attitude and easily switch between technology and people.
